Anti Racism and Inclusivity

Children learn so much about themselves and the world around them through play. Representation is incredibly important, especially in the playroom while your children begin to form their sense of self.

We would love you to read these words from Nanika Coor who is a clinical psychologist or you could call her ‘a respectful parenting enthusiast or maybe even a mindful parenting activist’. She discusses the importance of diversity in toys and steps we can all take to help raise our children to challenge the current societal differences.
We recognised the lack of representation in shops and brands while raising our son so have always made a diverse range of Bumbles. We can and will do more than solely staining wood a different colour.

Just like us, each one of the Bumbles are different in size, shape and personality. If you would like to choose your exact Bumble then you are able to add the ‘Charitable Choice’ option to your basket while making a £5 donation to Black Minds Matter…we’ll be in contact with the exact Bumbles you can choose from.

Their Mission

‘Our mission is to connect Black individuals and families with free mental health services — by professional Black therapists, specifically for Black trauma. To make this happen, we want to make mental health topics more relevant and accessible for all Black people in the U.K., removing the stigma and remodelling the services to be relevant for the Black community.

The Black Minds Matter U.K. fund is therefore used to cover the cost of the services you need most — including up to 12 sessions of therapy. With a growing collective of certified, professional, culturally competent therapists — beginning your journey towards improved mental health is as easy as browsing the collective, choosing a therapist and arranging a consultation. Your therapist will then contact us to confirm your assessment, and we’ll cover the cost. So there’s no paperwork for you, just a safe space for your journey to begin.

Set against the backdrop of the pandemic, which disproportionately affects Black people, and the growing Black Lives Matters movement — there has never been a more important time for Black individuals to begin their journey of improved mental wellbeing. We are here to support you, every step of the way – Agnes Mwakatuma and Annie Nash “
